We strive to impact the planet and people’s lives through sustainable agriculture and shared knowledge to offer new opportunities
Our Social Impact
Pamoja sees “sustainable agriculture” as making the best use of natural resources and services and by providing a fair economic return all across the value chain, from the inclusion of the most vulnerable small scale farmers to the processor and the retailer.
Inclusion is part of our DNA. Pamoja has developed an out-growers program, alongside its own farming operations to help reduce poverty, reduce inequalities and give access to new opportunities and to education
Impacting the planet and lives through sustainable agriculture
Our Smallholder Inclusion Scheme
In 2020, we started a smallholder program in Kilimanjaro region, Tanzania, with our partner company Macjaro. We provide high quality and grafted seedlings, organic training and the organic certification. The trees are intercropped and the demand to integrate the program is very high.
In Kenya, we are working with more than 5,000 smallholder farmers, 2,600 of them being already organic and fairtrade certified. Our network of buying centers, our nurseries and our teams of field officers & agronomists provide a strong support to these macadamia growers.
By 2028, we aim to increase the number of smallholder farmers who are working with us by more than 10,000.

Our Environmental Impact
Pamoja’s responsibility is to use the knowledge already available about sustainable farming, to develop & test new concepts and then to share this knowledge to enable a greater impact on the whole industry.
